When Keira Leaf was moved away, she whimpered in apparent dissatisfaction.
Joshua Sulliven glanced at her and noticed her small face had been stuck to his chest, leaving it flushed red. The movement seemed to have tugged at her skin, causing her eyebrows to furrow in pain.
Joshua covered Keira with his coat, and seeing her slightly pouting mouth, a touch of tenderness appeared in his eyes.
He didn't actually understand why he loved her; he only felt that when she was by his side, his once empty heart would be filled. He loved watching her pout, sulk, and get angry, as well as when she was as docile as a little kitten curled up in his arms. He thought that maybe love didn't need a reason because the moment it began involuntarily, it was destined to become deeply entrenched.
