Keira Leaf leaned on his back feeling very secure. She didn't know how long he had been carrying her like this. All she knew was that on this rainy night, she was no longer alone, with someone always carrying her like this, accompanying her, understanding her fears, comprehending her unease, tolerating her willfulness, and not making her feel like a lone duckweed, bearing the storm all by herself.
"Joshua Sulliven, let's go home," Keira said softly, worried that she might tire him if she kept on his back for too long.
"Hmm." Joshua replied and walked unhurriedly until he reached a crossroad where he hailed a taxi.
Because they were both soaked, the taxi driver was reluctant to take them. However, when Joshua threw a few red banknotes, the driver's attitude changed immediately.
