Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Slept with Him for Free

The sky was gradually darkening, and Keira Leaf woke up in a state of confusion.

At the first moment when she opened her eyes, she thought she was dreaming, unable to comprehend why the boxy prison cell had turned into a luxurious palace.

It was not until she saw her pajamas scattered on the carpet that she remembered her current situation, and she couldn't help but mock herself. Perhaps she had stayed too long in jail and now was feeling uncomfortable living outside.

When she looked around, the man was already gone. She propped herself up, sat on the sofa, every inch of her body aching and limp.

Walking into the bathroom and seeing the bruises on her body, Keira seemed a bit lost, but she quickly laughed. However, her laugh was tinged with a sense of some bitter heartbreak.

She had succeeded!

She had fulfilled her desire to become a woman of Joshua Sulliven, one among his multitude of women.

Turning on the shower, the torrential water poured down from above her head, drenching her like a heavy downpour, Keira allowed it to pummel her face, a numbing sense of asphyxia engulfing her.

This feeling of suffocation served as a harsh reminder of her six years of suffering. Six years, what a long duration of six years?

Six years were 2,190 days and nights, 52,560 hours, and she, she had paid a full six years of cost for her naive trust!

Keira stood under the shower for a long time, so much so that the housekeeper waiting outside started to worry if something had happened.

Just when he was about to send a maid in to check, the sound of the water suddenly stopped, and Keira, loosely dressed in a bathrobe, walked out, drying her hair.

The housekeeper's gaze first fell on her long and fair legs, felt a slight jolt in his heart but instantly moved his eyes away.

"Miss Leaf, here is the contract that Young Master Sulliven asked me to prepare. If you have no objections, please sign," the housekeeper said handing her a stack of contracts, his voice neutral, devoid of any sentiment.

Keira didn't even bother to glance at it before signing her name flamboyantly because no one understood better than her that this so-called game rule was always only targeted at her. That man always stood above all rules. Hence, what difference did looking or not looking make?

"Miss Leaf, according to the initial agreement, should pay you a remuneration of 5 million for this time. However, after the new contract takes effect, there is no need to pay any fees to Miss Leaf, so Miss Leaf can leave directly after packing up."

"I got it."

After dressing in the clothes brought by the maid, Keira left. Like she told Joshua in the beginning, she did not ask for a penny from him.

Although she was in dire need of money, Keira didn't feel disheartened. At least, in this way, she felt that she wasn't the one who sold herself cheaply; instead, she had slept with the district's privileged man for free.

Keira, sitting in the taxi, was originally planning her next move, but out of nowhere, she wanted to return to the Leaf Family's mansion to have a look. She wanted to see what kind of life they've been leading when she was wearing prison clothes day after day, sitting in that small prison cage without any sight of the horizon.

Half an hour later, the taxi safely stopped at a corner outside the Leaf Family's mansion. The lush trees blocked half of the car body, but the position allowed Keira to get a perfect view of the situation inside the grand Leaf mansion.

The lavish Leaf mansion was a duplex villa, located in the famous wealthy district of the capital city, with an exorbitant price tag that left people speechless.

At this moment, the lights in the mansion shone brightly, seemingly hosting a grand banquet. The dazzling laser lights and multicolored neon lights decorated the entire villa like a glowing castle. The white long table in the garden was filled with delicate pastries and a vast array of delicacies, and a tower of goblets stacked next to it was reflecting the blinding lights of the fireworks.
