It turns out, she had come back...
She finally understood why Joshua Sulliven had become increasingly absent-minded and irritable lately.
Keira Leaf nodded to Jill Gilbert, walked quietly to the bedside, placed the thermos at the headboard, and carefully pulled up the quilt for him, feeling somewhat awkward for staying here.
Jill Gilbert explained in a soft voice, "His injury isn't serious, just a little skin was grazed. It's just that he started running a fever a few days ago."
Keira Leaf nodded and reached out to touch his forehead.
His forehead was burning hot. Even though he was on an infusion, the temperature had not come down, causing Keira Leaf to furrow her brows involuntarily.
Taking off her coat, Keira Leaf went to the washroom to wring out a cool towel and came back to apply it to his forehead.
Joshua Sulliven had not woken up, so Keira Leaf kept vigil by his side, while Jill Gilbert, staring at the fine scar on her brow bone, seemed lost in thought.
