"Lily, it's almost time for dinner, why are you leaving now?" Emily Taylor called out to her with concern as she saw Lily heading out.
"I'm just going to my uncle's house. Mom, you can start dinner with the three kids. Don't wait for me."
"That won't do, we will wait for you to eat together," Emily Taylor insisted, feeling like she had returned to the old days in her recent interactions with Lily.
After all, she wasn't a heartless mother-in-law. In the past, she had regarded Lily as her own, and their time together lately allowed her to gradually emerge from the misunderstandings of the past.
Towards Lily, she was even better than before.
"Really, Mom, there's no need. You guys go ahead and eat. I usually eat less in the evening anyway, or you can just save some dishes for me," Lily replied, declining Emily Taylor's kindness as she hurried out the door.
Yet she didn't expect that as soon as she left, a modest black luxury car drove into the Lucas Manor.
