Mr. Vernon paused for a moment, as if recalling something, and sighed.
"So many years have passed, and I still remember when you were first sent to our kindergarten. You were just a tiny dot of a child, even smaller than your peers. I thought you were only three years old, but your mom said you were already four. I was surprised for quite a while!"
"..."
"Luckily, I soon found out that even though you were smaller than your peers, you were very clever, and I was reassured to take you in." Mr. Vernon said to himself, looking sentimentally at the now beautiful and vivacious Evelyn Sherman.
Before the Sherman family ran into trouble, Evelyn used to visit him, but after the incident, he hadn't seen Evelyn for four years.
"I was really worried that after your family's troubles, you wouldn't take care of yourself. Now that I see you have a fiancé, Teacher feels relieved."
"Thank you, Teacher," Evelyn said gratefully, looking at her former teacher who had taken special care of her.
