Evelyn Sherman watched his retreating figure, and for a long time, she just sat in the chair, motionless.
Her crystal clear eyes were slightly downcast, unknowable thoughts swirling within.
When she left the Police Station, she hailed a car by herself and returned to the Apartment.
Seeing the empty Apartment, she remembered Ella Jackson had not returned. Just as she was about to call her, she heard footsteps behind her.
"Little Evelyn, I was just about to look for you." As soon as Ella Jackson saw Evelyn standing at the door, she quickly stepped forward, grabbed her shoulders, and gave her a once-over.
"What's the matter with you, looking after Collins Aiden until you're dizzy? I'm not sick, so why are you examining me like this?" Evelyn caught her hand and looked over her shoulder, frowning when she didn't see Collins Aiden.
"Where is he? How come it's just you here?"
