After a day and a half of rest, the red swelling on her face had receded, leaving only some faint red marks that were hardly noticeable.
The only thing that couldn't heal quickly was the injury on her forehead, which had bled and scabbed over.
However, this was just right, as it could prove that she was really sick and not skipping work without a reason.
Evelyn thought for a while, changed out of her hospital gown and into her clothes, and then went through the discharge process before hurrying to the company.
It was lunchtime.
Most of the people in the department had gone out for lunch.
As Evelyn was about to clock in and grab some food, Lily Lawrence dumped a pile of documents on her office desk.
"Let me tell you, these are the tasks that have piled up in the two days you didn't come. If you don't finish them today, don't even think about leaving work!"
