"I haven't thought of anything yet. I'll let you know when I do." Chester Yale's eyes flashed, and his thin lips parted slightly.
"Deal!" Evelyn Sherman agreed crisply.
Who would choose an uncertain promise that might not even be kept over the full vinegar banquet right in front of them? Only a dumb person would.
However, Evelyn didn't plan to tell Chester that she might break this promise.
"Can I eat normally now?" Evelyn looked at the full vinegar banquet that had been taken away, her crystal-clear eyes staring expectantly at Chester.
"Not yet." Chester raised his eyebrows, and seeing her aggrieved face, he couldn't help but smile.
His long fingers tapped rhythmically on the desktop, before he finally spoke softly, "Do you really not remember what day it is today?"
"What day?" Evelyn looked puzzled and looked up at him.
Did he need to choose a specific day to invite her for a meal?!
As Evelyn spoke, the door to the private room was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
