"..."
Evelyn Sherman was taken aback, looking up at the cell phone repairman in astonishment.
"You're saying my phone won't turn on because it got wet?"
"Not only wet. I'm afraid the whole body has been soaked in water, resulting in such severe damage." The repairman frowned, shaking his head and leaving.
Evelyn closed the car door and stared at the cellphone in her hand, unable to regain her composure for a while.
She had been dragged back from the film crew by Chester Yale that day, and her phone had always been in her bag. How could it have gotten wet?
She thought about it the whole way, and the only possibility was that Chester had thrown her phone into the water.
But why would he want to damage her phone?
"Miss, we're here." The taxi stopped outside the villa gate.
Evelyn paid the fare and got out of the car after pushing the door open.
As she approached the villa gate, Chester's words from last night surfaced in her mind once again.
