The butler placed her luggage in a room, told her that this would be her residence from now on, and then prepared to leave.
"Where's Chester Yale? Isn't he at home?" Evelyn Sherman asked unconsciously.
As soon as the words fell, she held her breath nervously.
She was afraid to see Chester Yale, but this was his territory, and it was impossible not to meet him eventually.
Moreover, there was a slight expectation in her heart, wanting to see him...
"Mr. Chester's whereabouts is never explained to servants," said the butler respectfully, and then bowed and left the room.
In the vast room, only Evelyn Sherman remained.
So he was not really at home...
She had been nervous all the way for nothing.
Evelyn sat down on her luggage, staring at the completely unfamiliar room, biting her lips, and not moving for a long time.
She never thought that she would see Chester Yale again.
What's more, they only met three times, and she moved into his villa.
She had no idea what he was thinking.
Wasn't he supposed to hate her?
She still remembered every word he said four years ago. He said, if she ever showed up in front of him again, he would never let her go...
Evelyn shook her head, not letting herself get lost in thought, looked around the room seriously, and recalled the route the butler had just taken her.
"This is not the main bedroom, so where is Chester Yale's room?"
Evelyn stood up from her luggage, and cautiously walked out.
For four years, she dared not even inquire about his news, and now she moved into his villa. It's not possible to not be curious.
She wanted to know, how was he doing these past four years?
Like a thief, Evelyn Sherman sneaked towards the main bedroom.
Standing at the door of the bedroom, she took a deep breath before reaching out to turn the handle.
It opened.
The door wasn't locked.
She couldn't help but exhale a long breath, pushed the door open slightly, and stared at his territory.
His room was clear-cut black and white, a simple and cold style, just like his office room.
Even the air in the room was cold, as if it hadn't been lived in for a long time.
Evelyn stood at the door, hesitating not to enter.
Suddenly, the phone in her pocket rang, startling her.
"Miss Sherman, hello, this is the hospital..." An anxious voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Bang——"
Evelyn's hand trembled, and the cell phone slipped from her palm. The next second, she bent down to pick up the phone, turned and rushed out of the villa.
Standing outside the villa, she waited for half a day without getting a taxi. Biting her lip, she ran towards the outside of the villa's avenue.
It wasn't until she reached the outskirts that she managed to flag down a taxi.
"Master, please hurry up, I'm going to First Hospital." Evelyn's voice was trembling as she spoke.
Watching the car driving towards the hospital, she was so nervous that she held her breath, digging her fingers into her own palm. Even when she scratched out bloodstains, she couldn't feel the pain.
As soon as the taxi stopped, she pushed the car door open and ran into the hospital.
She rushed to the Intensive Care Surgical Area without stopping.
Seeing the red light outside the surgery room, her heart tightened.
The surgery was still in progress...
With a "snap" sound, the red light went out, and the surgery room door opened from the inside.
Evelyn rushed forward and hastily approached the doctor walking out.
She wanted to ask something, opened her mouth, but no sound came out.
