Amelia stood in the corner, waiting for a few young girls to finish getting their water, chatting and laughing as they walked to the other end of the corridor. She came out from around the corner, placed her cup under the water dispenser, and turned on the hot water tap.
She stared at the wisps of steam rising from the water, yet her heart was filled with chills.
In the mirror behind the water dispenser, a beautiful woman's face was reflected, with clear, pitch-black pupils and a calm, cold, and clear demeanour. There was not a single superfluous expression on her face.
Looking at her own face in the mirror, the corners of her crimson lips slowly curved into a sneer, and her breath also cooled.
Perhaps they were right; she was rich enough and pretty enough, but after all, she didn't possess Lilian Parker's unique actor's charm and seductive demeanor.
So why should she be greedy for more, when heaven had already been so generous to her?
