Daniel Cooper frowned, a rush of annoyance surged in his heart, unbidden. She had trouble sleeping and had finally managed to doze off, only to be woken up by some inconsiderate jerk.
Instinctively, he wanted to hang up the phone for her, but the woman had already fumbled for the mobile phone and hit the answer button in a groggy haze, her voice lazy with a hint of raspiness, "Zachary Shane."
Daniel Cooper, "..."
Was it really that bastard?
"Hmm, at the Hospital, he got injured, and I've been here with him every evening lately."
Hearing the woman openly explain that she was with him every night made Daniel's face ease a smidgen.
"Alright, I'll make time tomorrow evening, and we can meet to talk."
"..." She was going to meet him?
And at night?
"It's no problem, there are doctors and nurses at the hospital, and I'll have his assistant come over to keep him company for the night. Nothing will go wrong."
"..." What kind of talk required an entire evening?
