Amelia slightly lowered her eyes, hiding the emotion within them, and then gently tugged at the man's sleeve.
Daniel Cooper's expression remained unchanged, but feeling the woman's movement, he quickly looked down at her, a faint smile on his lips as he spoke in a gentle tone, "What is it?"
Amelia didn't voice her suspicions, instead, she said, "The child seems to have been hurt quite seriously, and it's quite pitiful to see. Why don't we let him get treated first, okay?"
Daniel's eyes were brimming with affection as he looked at the woman who spoke softly by his ear. He lowered his head further and his thin lips brushed against her ear, his warm breath on the side of her face as he spoke in a deep voice, "But I'm not in a good mood right now, and I don't feel like being charitable."
Amelia didn't move, she only looked up at him, smiling as she asked, "What would make you feel like being charitable then?"
