Amelia couldn't bear to listen any longer, frowned slightly, and rose to her feet to walk out with Nathan Taylor.
Once they reached the corridor outside, Amelia spoke with a faint voice, "Go ahead, what is it?"
Mason Taylor, "..."
In fact, he hadn't made up a story yet.
So he simply told the truth, "Actually, it was Mr. Cooper who hinted for me to ask you to come out. Mr. Cooper is definitely worried that you'd be heartbroken to see his wounds... but looking at Mr. Cooper's condition, there seems to be no serious issue, so Madam, you shouldn't worry too much."
Amelia lowered her eyes and sighed softly in her heart, whispering, "I know."
She had guessed as much earlier. After all these years, he was still the same, trying to hide everything bad from her.
Nathan Taylor watched the quiet woman standing in the corridor and couldn't quite understand Mr. Cooper's approach. Wasn't it the perfect time to garner sympathy with his injuries?
