The next morning, Amelia finished washing up and went downstairs, but after waiting for a while in the dining room, Ava Summers still hadn't come down.
She couldn't help but feel puzzled. Given Ava's character, she would never oversleep at someone else's house.
Could it be that she was feeling unwell?
Amelia quickly went upstairs and knocked on the guest room door.
"Ava, are you up?"
No one answered from inside.
She frowned and knocked again, "Ava?"
Still no response.
Something wasn't right.
She grasped the doorknob and tried to turn it, but it was locked from the inside.
Immediately, she fetched the key, unlocked the door, and walked in to find Ava lying in bed, pale and in pain, with cold sweat all over her forehead, half unconscious.
She immediately dialed 911.
The ambulance arrived quickly, and she followed it to the hospital.
