After Daniel left, Ruby pulled Amelia into her room and asked curiously, "What's going on with you? Did you really break up with Mr. Cooper?"
"It's not just a break-up, it's over for good."
"Come on, at least be sincere when lying. If it's over for good, why did you come here together? Also, the way Mr. Cooper looked at you when he left seemed like he just couldn't let go of you."
Amelia didn't want to discuss this complex issue with Ruby, whose mind always seemed to be elsewhere, and instead asked, "Where is your brother? Is he asleep yet?"
"I don't think so; I saw his room light on just now. Are you looking to tell him that important thing?"
"Not really, it's not urgent. I was just asking casually."
Ruby's room had a window facing the parking lot, and she looked outside to see a familiar man standing by a black Bentley, smoking a cigarette.
