When Amelia came out after washing Carl's hands, Mason had already left.
She looked at the man in patient's clothing with a pale face and asked, "What do you want to achieve by tricking me and the child to come here?"
Daniel took long strides, bent down to pick up the little guy, and walked into the room while answering, "I just really wanted to see both of you."
Amelia was obviously not happy with his answer and followed up with, "Now that we've seen each other, can we go now?"
Ignoring her question, he put the child on the bed and took out the toys Mason had prepared earlier from the bedside table. He softly asked smiling, "Is it okay for Carl to sleep here with Mommy tonight?"
The child agreed to everything happily seeing the toys, "Yeah!"
Amelia became annoyed, "What's so good about this room smelling of disinfectant?"
The man didn't bother to respond, and continued playing with the little guy, "Carl, daddy has a question. Can you tell daddy?"
