Lilian Parker apparently hadn't expected him to respond as such. She stuttered, taken aback, "I..."
"Enough," the man's deep voice cut her words short, "Lilian, please quiet down. You're giving me a headache."
Lilian moved her lips, then shut them reluctantly, her face showing her grievance.
Amelia smirked quietly. As she shifted her gaze, she was caught off guard by the dark, deep pools of his eyes.
After a few seconds of silent eye contact, she finally spoke, "Daniel Cooper, that snake..."
The man interrupted her, "I'm exhausted. Can you just let me rest for now?"
Amelia was silent.
She took a deep breath and nodded, "Alright, rest then."
Done speaking, she turned her face away, avoiding his gaze.
Not until she felt a sudden weight on her shoulder did she frown and spoke up, "Could you be a bit more considerate in front of your girlfriend?"
But the head resting on her shoulder didn't move or respond.
