Mrs. Gardner smiled, "If you don't want to say it, then let's just leave it, let's go back."
Amelia recalled what she had said earlier, "Mother, let me treat you to lunch."
Mrs. Gardner waved her hand, "Another day, I've scheduled a card game with Mrs. Johnson this afternoon. You also don't look very well today, I'll remember your treat for now. Pregnancy is hard, you should go home and rest today."
Amelia gave a bashful smile, "Thank you, mother."
She hadn't expected the seemingly carefree Director's Wife to have such a thoughtful side.
After leaving the prison, Amelia didn't go straight home. Instead, she had Mrs. Gardner drop her off at Daniel Cooper's company.
The deadbeat detective was terribly inefficient, she still wanted Daniel to help her find Ruby Forest.
Although she had made up with Daniel for several months now and was carrying his child, she had only been to this building twice, including today.
