At 11:30 pm, Amelia finished processing the day's data and shut down her computer.
She was a bit tired and a bit worried. Thanks to the coffee Olivia gave her, she didn't feel the slightest bit sleepy yet.
She also had a problem with not being able to sleep in unfamiliar beds, so she figured tonight's sleep would be tough.
But even if she couldn't fall asleep, she didn't want to go home.
Amelia left the Research Institute through the small west gate and sneaked along the wall to enter the hotel.
Glancing through the glass at the dedicated bodyguards still standing at the entrance, she walked towards the reception desk.
She pulled out her phone to confirm her reservation with the receptionist, "Guest Amelia Foster. You booked room 707, a standard room at $280 per night, and a $500 deposit. Please show your ID."
Amelia patted her pockets, "...I didn't bring it."
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but without an ID, you can't check in."
"..." But she had already paid for the room online.
