Once they got in the car, Amelia eagerly asked, "Can you tell me now?"
The man hesitated a few seconds before saying, "The person he wants to target isn't me."
Amelia was slightly stunned, "…What do you mean?"
Daniel Cooper leaned back on the chair with apparent fatigue and slowly closed his eyes, "I haven't divorced Lana Parker yet, so he wouldn't want his daughter to suddenly become a widow, plus the election is about to take place, he needs the Coopers' support."
She seemed to understand, "Do you mean that Mr. Parker wants to blackmail you with me?"
He really has no shame.
Daniel seemed a bit sleepy as he patted the back of her hand, "I don't care about any threats, except for those involving you. That's why I've only been secretly protecting you these past two years, not wanting to bring you into the open. Because if someone threatens me with you, I'd agree to anything."
