"Don't talk nonsense!"
Daniel Cooper interrupted her sternly, "What happened today has nothing to do with you."
After a pause, he added, "What happened three years ago also has nothing to do with you, got it?"
Amelia was taken aback by his stern yet tender tone and blurted out, "I missed you a lot."
The man stopped in his tracks.
Upon realizing what she had just said, Amelia was stunned as well.
In those years apart, she had always placed resentment in the most conspicuous part of her heart. She knew that beneath that layer of resentment lurked a wild longing, like weeds.
However, she had always disguised it so well that no one ever found out. Why did she blurt it out today of all days?
Nathan Taylor, who had walked several steps away with an empty umbrella, silently retreated back...
With all eyes on him, he silently celebrated with fireworks in his heart:
The boss's efforts have finally paid off!
He finally got the beauty tonight!
Finally, no more living in misery!
