Amelia didn't say anything, but she heard Lana Parker say, "My husband, my friend's Persian cat just had kittens, and she promised to give me one, look at this, it has a great pedigree."
As she said this, she turned her phone around for Daniel to see the picture of the newborn kittens on the screen.
Unfortunately, the man didn't even look at it.
Unfazed, she turned to Amelia and said, "Dr. Foster, can you help me take a look? How does it look?"
Amelia was sitting close to Daniel and could see the picture on the phone at a glance.
In the photo, four little kittens were bundled together, all dressed in tiny clothes and shoes, looking incredibly cute and softening anyone's heart.
As she hesitated, wondering whether to comment, she heard the man next to her speak in a deep voice, "No matter how good its pedigree, it's still an animal. Raise it, and it might just bite you someday."
