The man's words sounded like polite concern, but in reality, they were an order for her to leave. Lilian Parker could tell, and she understood in her heart.
But she didn't want to go. Pretending to be foolish, she touched her knee, "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Cooper, I'm fine. The doctor said as long as I don't pass out again, there's nothing seriously wrong. I'll stay with you for a while longer. You can't be left unattended here. I'll wait for Mr. Taylor or Mr. Hawkins to come back before I leave."
Daniel Cooper's dark eyes swept over her wheelchair without a hint of sympathy in his voice, "You being here doesn't serve any purpose. Who pushed you over here?"
Lilian's face stiffened, then she forced an embarrassed smile, "I asked the nurse to bring me here. Even though I'm unable to move about now, at least I can watch over you. If anything happens, I can call for the doctor."
