Daniel Cooper could actually tell that her love for him might still be there, but it lacked the desire for possession and jealousy.
In plain terms, she didn't care about him as much anymore.
The deeper Daniel thought about it, the deeper his brow furrowed, his thin lips pressed into a straight line. Regardless of whether she cared or not, he had promised her before he left that he would return soon, yet it had been nearly three hours since he left.
And she wasn't feeling well to begin with; he had thrown away her sleeping pills. Without him by her side, she definitely wouldn't be able to sleep soundly, or perhaps not being able to fall asleep at all.
Yet in those hours, she hadn't even made a single call to him, which clearly showed that she really was upset.
With this thought, he unconsciously pressed harder on the accelerator and took out his phone from his pocket. Upon lighting up the screen, he saw an unread message.
