Amelia was suddenly reminded of her first encounter with Daniel Cooper.
It was a midsummer rainy night. Her ride broke down halfway hence she had to take the bus home after late-night self-study.
From the bus stop to the Villa District, there was a distance. The rain was heavy, and the road was deserted. Suddenly, a few hooligans sprang out from nowhere, impeding her halfway, and began to harass her obscenely.
She was already a black belt in Taekwondo, so she didn't take them seriously.
But, to her surprise, after a few moves, they pulled out knives. What's more unbelievable was that they all practiced throwing knives...
Even though they weren't particularly skillful, the sudden thunder in the sky stroked fear in her heart, and she became somewhat disoriented by the blades hurled at her from different directions.
In a moment of distraction, one of the knives was already heading straight for her face and she reflexively shut her eyes.
