Mr. Gardner's face changed as soon as he saw Daniel's anger. He immediately said, "Daniel, don't be angry. Russell didn't mean it. He was just drunk and spoke recklessly. Please give me some face on this. We shouldn't involve Director Parker."
The title "Director Parker" was like a sobering pill. The intoxicated Dean Russell was instantly sober, with cold sweat bursting from his forehead.
He had thought Amelia was just a plaything kept by Daniel's side. He didn't expect them to be real classmates. Offending Daniel wasn't a big deal, but if this angered Director Parker, things would get out of hand.
