The missed calls contained none from the Police Station nor from Nathan Taylor; they were mostly from Benjamin Parker and the home landline, along with a strange number. Amelia didn't rush to return the calls but instead opened her messages.
Initially skimming without much interest, her gaze suddenly paused the next second, and then her eyes widened. Amidst the flood of red notifications, she focused on the small red dot in the upper right corner of Ruby Shane's avatar.
Unbelievably, Ruby Shane had sent her a message twenty minutes ago.
She clicked on it anxiously yet apprehensively, and a familiar voice came through the speaker, "Amelia, I'm at Riverside Bridge. Come over right away, I have something important to tell you."
After hearing this, Amelia breathed a sigh of relief. In that moment, she thought Daniel Cooper had guessed right: that girl had just wandered off on her own, causing her unwarranted worry.
