Although Amelia kept telling herself that the recording couldn't possibly be real, there was a moment when she felt she should tell him, and maybe all the uncertainties in her heart would immediately be resolved.
But before she could speak, she heard him say, "If you're still unwilling to talk, then I might have to resort to coercion?"
Amelia's slightly parted lips paused, the words ready to come out stopped on the tip of her tongue. She raised her eyebrows gently, her plain face without makeup revealing a slightly provocative smile, "Are you threatening me?"
"I'm expressing concern for you."
She let out a long, soft "Oh," "Well, your way of showing concern is quite unique, but just so you know, I don't like it."
As she spoke, she smiled and lifted her bare hand, with a teasing motion, she hooked her index finger under the man's chin, "A threat should look like a threat. Hiding behind a pretense of concern, do you think I'm an idiot?"
