Amelia couldn't help but let out a little laugh, she raised her delicate fingers and touched his chin, her voice soft and warm, "Mr. Cooper, I thought you were going to keep that necklace and surprise me with it when it came time for marriage. How was I supposed to know you wanted to show it to me now?"
Although he could tell she was somewhat playing up her charm, Daniel Cooper still went along with her, "So that's it, huh? I guess I just don't understand women's thoughts.
"So, do you want to see it now, or wait until later?"
"Whenever you want to show it to me, that's when I'll see it."
Before he could answer, the phone in his western pocket started buzzing abruptly. Taking it out, he saw it was Mason Hawkins' number.
His finger moved to answer the call, and before he could speak, he heard the other end swearing up a storm, "Daniel Cooper, you've really screwed me over this time."
Daniel frowned slightly, "What happened? Did something go wrong?"
