Pushing open the bedroom door, she saw the man inside lying sound asleep on the bed, hands indeed handcuffed as Ethel had described.
Ethel pulled over a chair and said, "Chloe, you sit here. When he wakes up, you just need to talk to him. He's most afraid of seeing you."
Chloe nodded slightly, without a word.
Ethel walked out silently, thinking to prepare some breakfast to bring up for them.
Just as she reached the doorway, she saw Hans White coming in with six Mutated People.
"Did Chloe Collins come in just now?" he asked with a frosty look.
This show of force frightened Ethel considerably. She composed herself and said, "No, uncle, you must be mistaken."
"No?" He let out a derisive snort. "The surveillance makes it clear. You lot, go upstairs and drag her out for me, take her away!"
