She pondered about this for quite a while, until Charles Carrington came down from the next building.
From afar, he greeted her.
She tried to keep her face calm: "Leaving?"
"Going to the hospital. The trial is starting soon. Chat with your friends more."
She nodded.
Charles Carrington looked at her, "You seem preoccupied. Something on your mind?"
Chloe Collins looked up, and said indifferently, "Take care."
Having said that, she slowly walked inside.
Charles Carrington smiled, then walked away.
A gust of wind came from behind, and Chloe thought that Charles Carrington had come back, but the next second, she sensed someone else's presence and dismissed the thought.
It was Mr. Ford.
He was in a hurry, and only greeted her briefly as he walked quickly towards the upstairs.
Chloe abandoned the idea of returning to her room and sat in the rocking chair in the courtyard.
