Chapter 279
He sat up and called for Ford.
In no time, footsteps approached. He could tell it wasn't Ford.
"Mr. Ford has gone out, and he won't be back for a while. Do you want breakfast? They've already brought it over. We've got steamed buns and salty porridge, as well as fresh baby bok choy. It tastes quite good."
Hearing this lively and spirited female voice, Alexander Foster's hanging heart settled down.
"What happened to you last night?"
The young lady sat down in front of him, speaking casually, "My master found out about my chicken-catching, so someone came looking for me. If they had caught me, it would've been disastrous, so I had to hide in your room."
"Catching chickens? You?" He wasn't very convinced.
"Catching chickens makes you confused?"
The young lady obviously hesitated for a moment before answering, "I took some medicine yesterday and felt sleepy. Then I got caught in the rain, that's why."
