Chapter 149: Midnight Fragrance
Chloe Collins went downstairs and immediately opened the fridge to drink more than half a bottle of ice water.
As she slowly screwed the cap back on, her eyes stared blankly at a certain spot, somewhat dazed.
When it came to rejecting people, she had done it plenty of times.
But what she said just now was a first.
Without even thinking, the words just leaped out of her mouth, bypassing her brain entirely.
Albert Green's advice kept echoing in her ears. Even though she didn't take it into consideration at all, she couldn't forget it. In fact, it became even clearer in her mind when she woke up from a midnight dream, imprinted word by word.
Thinking about this, she loosened the cap with a flick of her thumb and gulped down the remaining water in the bottle.
