Forced into a corner, he said, "Alex, actually, I think it's better if you ask her yourself. Alex's fingertips touched the cup's wall, and the warmth of the coffee seeped into the pads of his fingers.
He looked up and said, "You've been wronged by her."
Brandon Spence almost blurted out his agreement, but stopped himself and said, "Anyway, she's not as weak as you think she is. For the favor she's asking, please talk to her on my behalf."
Alex deduced the relationship between the two and lightly tapped the cup with his fingers. He picked up the coffee, sipped it slowly, and said indifferently, "Her thoughts are my thoughts."
