Chapter 138
Chloe hadn't opened her eyes. In the night as smooth as water, a cool breeze gently brushed her skin, and then she heard a faint sigh.
Soon after, a coat carrying warmth was draped over her body, mixed with a mild fragrance. It was warm and comforting.
This warmth blended well with the cool breeze, making her feel cozy and pleasant.
She slowly drifted off to sleep.
After an unknown amount of time, she was awakened by countless complex, chaotic noises which gave her a headache.
When she opened her eyes, she saw the Fosters' parking lot, quiet and serene.
But her left ear was bombarded by waves of chaotic noise.
She touched her ear, and realized that her hearing aid had fallen out.
"Looking for this?"
Chloe turned her gaze to see Alexander Foster holding a soft white ball between his fingers – it was her hearing aid.
It indeed had fallen out.
She stretched out her hand: "Give it to me."
"What's wrong with your ear? Why do you need to put this in it?"
