Layla Lowell painfully rose to her feet, her knee torn open and her body coated in a thin layer of dust. She was a pitiful sight, but the look in her eyes remained defiant.
She snorted disdainfully, "Ruined your desk? I was just returning the favor! You're the one who got rid of all my books first!"
She ground her teeth, "I was careless just now. Why don't you try it again after school, I'll make sure even your parents wouldn't recognize you!"
Chloe Collins looked at her impassively, "I got rid of your books? Do you have proof?"
Before Layla could reply, another student interjected: "Not only did you throw Layla's books away, you also dumped crap in her desk drawer. Compared to that, what she did to you was nothing."
The girl who spoke was dressed similarly to Layla. Her tone was indignant, making it clear she was angry on her friend's behalf.
