Perhaps due to the alcohol, An Ziqi felt her head spinning, raising her head defiantly to gaze at Xiao Moli.
Xiao Moli felt distressed every time she addressed him so formally. Annoyed, he averted his gaze to silence her.
An Ziqi quickly reacted, raising a hand to shield her face from him.
Xiao Moli knew she was most likely upset about the gossip from this morning. After a moment of silence, he said, "The rumors this morning aren't true. Bai Xinxin was sick last night, and I was just taking care of her."
An Ziqi chuckled lowly, "Does it matter?"
Xiao Moli's eyes darkened, and his lips thinned. He stared silently at An Ziqi for a long while, till she pushed him away, then said, "I never liked Bai Xinxin."
She should've been pleased to hear these words, but the day's events made her realize the truth. Regardless of care or lack of affection, the outcome remained the same.
