Silvia Swift lay on the ground, wailing like a ghost at midnight: "Amelia Cobb, I curse you to never find peace in death."
The woman's steps faltered, her hand hesitating on the car door before she withdrew it, turning back to look at the person on the ground wailing like an ant.
Her indifferent gaze was like God judging the world.
No peace in death?
Heh... The woman sneered.
To her now, those words were a mere joke.
"You promised her," Amelia was about to get in the car when William Cobb grabbed her wrist, "Look at her now, she's no different from someone on their deathbed. If what you promised her cannot be fulfilled, she will die with great resentment."
Amelia glanced at her wrist and slowly moved her gaze to William, "So?"
William feigned compassion, "Let her see President Robinson."
"Dad, are you in league with them?" Amelia asked directly, without any circumlocution. Her gaze bore into William's like a judge's.
