Amelia's straightforward words interrupted Sandra's speech.
"Have you been to Gannes?" Sandra asked Amelia.
"Yes."
"From my hometown to Gannes, it takes 37 hours by train. There were no buses or public transportation. To get to the nearest place to catch a township bus from where I was born, I had to walk for seven hours and cross four mountains."
"I had never left the mountains before I turned fifteen."
