Christopher Robinson was knocked out, and when Juliet Walker arrived, she happened to run into Steve Kent.
The two had just gotten out of the car, and before they had a chance to greet each other, Steve was dragged away by Isaac Fenton.
Juliet Walker was startled and hurried to catch up.
In the bedroom, Christopher's head was spinning, only hearing Madeline Carter's nagging and orders, along with Amelia Cobb's constant arguing in his ears.
It seemed as if there was no way out, crashing around in his mind.
"What on earth happened?" Madeline Carter questioned Sadie.
Sadie had been sent away by Isaac Fenton earlier and wasn't at the main house, so she had no idea what had happened.
As for Madeline, the reason she asked Sadie was that she knew she wouldn't get a straight answer from Isaac, who would only try to gloss over the issue.
"I'm not quite sure, ma'am."
"How on earth are you managing as a housekeeper?" Madeline's voice rose slightly.
