Amelia reached out and pressed the intercom.
"Madam."
"Do you have any painkillers?" Amelia's face was slightly pale as she leaned against the head of the bed.
Her breathing was weak.
"Yes, Mom prepared them for you," Kallie heard Amelia wake up and quickly hung up the phone and came in.
Amelia handed her the cup with the ibuprofen.
"How do you feel?" Kallie anxiously looked at Amelia.
The latter took a break and slowly shook her head.
"What time is it?"
"Half-past seven," Kallie glanced at the time and told her.
Amelia originally thought it was just past six o'clock. Hearing that it was 7:30, she propped herself up with one hand on the mattress and sat up: "I need to go to the study."
"Amelia?" Kallie exclaimed, seemingly unable to comprehend.
Amelia reached out and hugged Kallie. "Don't worry. I'm not that fragile."
Those words, "not that fragile," would be acceptable coming from someone else, but when spoken by Amelia, Kallie felt heartbroken.
