It was deep at night when Amelia Cobb woke up from her dream and glanced at the time, 3 o'clock in the morning.
Christopher Robinson was still in his dream lying beside her, while Amelia was wide awake lying on her side.
After a while, she slowly got up, treading lightly as if afraid to wake up Christopher.
The bedroom and the study were only a few steps apart. Before Amelia came, Christopher's study and bedroom were combined. Amelia separated the two spaces with a door after she moved in.
As she reached out to push open the door to Christopher's study and was about to step in, a soft cough sounded from behind her.
A sudden tingling sensation covered Amelia's spine.
Slowly turning her head, she saw Christopher standing behind her looking at her.
He looked relaxed, as if he had just woken up.
"Can't sleep?"
Amelia blinked her eyes and looked at Christopher, puzzled: "Why am I here?"
