Christopher Robinson never asked anyone if they were willing or wanted to do something in a particular way. Instead, he decided how to arrange things, and they had to follow suit.
Amelia Cobb stood by the sofa, looking at Christopher Robinson, and finally asked, "I don't know if Mr. Robinson has ever heard of a saying."
Christopher Robinson didn't look up: "You tell me."
"Some people should have a limit. You should know whether I like you or not, and whether I want to see you or not."
Amelia was puzzled, how could such a grown man not see that she didn't want to see him?
Day after day, he approached her like an annoying turtle, and she didn't know what he wanted.
"If I were to consider Miss Cobb's thoughts too much, we would never meet in this life. No, not even in eight lifetimes."
Christopher Robinson's indifferent tone made Amelia feel a bit uncaring.
"I want to go home."
