When she finished speaking, Mrs. Astir examined Isla carefully. Then she said, "Isla, what have you been up to these past few days? You seem to have gotten a bit tanned?"
"Most of the activities in the past few days were outdoors, so it's normal that I've gotten a bit tanned," explained Isla. "Mom, Dad, didn't I tell you guys last night that there was no need for you to pick me up from the airport? I'm not a kid anymore!"
Mr. Astir, who was hauling the luggage, turned back to look at Isla after hearing her comment, "In your mom's and my heart, you'll always be our little girl."
