Upon his entrance, three female officials from the Imperial Court put down their scrolls, stood up from their chairs, and greeted him with a salute.
"No need for formalities."
Lin Jinyun, with his gentle demeanor, waved the three to sit down as he approached the desk. He took a newly-delivered petition from one of the female officials' hands.
The female official quietly reported: "The flood warnings for the Huai River have been triggered. The water level has already exceeded the warning line, and a new wave of flood is coming."
Lin Jinyun rubbed his temples with a headache: "The disaster at the Huai River needs to be dealt with."
"Little brother, can you guess who I just saw at the Bright Moon Pavilion?"
Xu Wei happened to enter at that moment, with a joking smile on his face.
"Brother Xu."
Lin Jinyun's handsome face darkened: "The disaster at the Huai River is so severe, yet you still have the mood to go to the Bright Moon Pavilion?"
