Frank Smith looked at the arm blocking him: "Will I stay here and have dinner?"
Jane gave a slight cough:"Why not."
Jane could cook, but he was alone, and cooking for one person didn't inspire much enthusiasm. He would only cook for himself every time; his rice cooker was certainly suffering.
Jane had planned to invite Frank Smith to the Chinese Restaurant that night. He had not eaten from there for a while and had been craving it. It was challenging to find authentic restaurants in South Vietnam, which was often plagued by warfare; who knew how long these restaurants would last?
However, he ran into Sophia Jackson, who had been drenched by the rain.
This is how it ended up.
Since there was no way to visit the Chinese Restaurant, Jane thought Frank's suggestion was good: "I have vegetables in the fridge, let's eat at my house. Also, since Sophia is here, it'll be more fun to cook. Haven't you missed my cooking? Remember to pay if you enjoy the meal."
