Lyra tightened her grip, cold sweat covered her palm, feeling somewhat wet and sticky.
Turning around, she found Dylan had moved behind her, standing very close.
She convinced herself not to be afraid of him. Standing her ground, she did not take a single step back: "Isn't it usually around six weeks into pregnancy when symptoms like vomiting start to show?"
Her tone was unsure, almost as if she was asking Dylan for confirmation.
Seeing Dylan remain silent, Lyra slowly nodded: "Probably, but I'm not too sure either. However, I am married, so being pregnant is normal. If I were indeed pregnant, the reckless wanderings these past weeks probably would have made me miscarry multiple times."
With that, Lyra lifted her gaze, her eyes filled with a hint of sadness as she looked at Dylan, self-mockingly saying: "I didn't do anything wrong in all my years, yet why is my life is such a rocky road? Perhaps I was just born under an unlucky star."
