The truth is, Ada envied such a family, because it was so cool!
"Your parents must not have been very strict with you, Lyra. You must have been pretty free as a child, right?" Ada asked enviously.
Lyra cracked a smile but couldn't maintain it due to the strong wind: "Yeah, my parents have always raised me in a hands-off manner."
Regarding her parents' background, they lived in the countryside before Lyra was born, close to her grandmother's hometown. At that time, her grandmother still hadn't moved deep into the mountains.
Lyra recalled her mother's story; after their house was demolished, her father used the compensation money to start a business in the city, which eventually became the Smith Group. In Lyra's view, her father was born to do business. Otherwise, who else could set up a company within a few years, then establish a group in just another few years?
Some parts of the story were true, while others weren't.
Initially, she was a rich second-generation kid.
